Smitty’s Market



Take an almost century-old meat market coated with decades of soot and barbecue smoke, and cook up some of the most legendary brisket, sausage and ribs in the self-proclaimed “barbecue capital of Texas”–the tiny town of Lockhart. Throw in some nice light and a few interesting characters, do away with forks, plates, and sauce, and you have Smitty’s Market. Photographed as a personal project–and not just an excuse to dine fabulously.
